MOVIE REVIEW: Cape No. 7 《海角七號》

Watched this movie on the 7th November 2008 together with Esther. Double thumbs up!!!!! It's a brilliant, funny, amazingly well-done movie with low budget... I strongly recommend to everyone to watch this Taiwanese life story, it's real! Based on lots of real life scenario, funny but it's just so real... everything is great about this movie, the story line, oh and the soundtrack, simply fantastic! The movie has received 12 nominations at the 45th Golden Horse Award which will be held soon! All the new actors and actress, they are simply young, vibrant and natural... I'll give beg it in my 5-star Movie List. Esther loves it too... Going to buy this soundtrack soon!!!

PS: Special recommendation: Buy the soundtrack!! There is one Mandarin and Japanese Song composed in a very soothing and relaxing way... The Mandarin Singer is Van Fan 范逸臣 and the Japanese singer is 中孝介.

Prelude

James was the Dean of Perwira Education Group from 1999-2002 and became the General Manager of Perwira Education Group from 2003-2004 before he decided to explore worldwide. He chose Beijing as his first destination in advancing his career globally. He was offered at the Zhuozhan Days Hotel and Shangri-La Beijing Hotel as its English Training Specialist, responsible for enhancing the entire English standard of the staff and management. He then pursued with the Pre-opening team of The Westin Beijing, Financial Street and Manzhouli Holiday International Hotel. His latest involvement is with the pre-opening/post opening of The Legation Quarter Beijing as Training Manager.

He was actively involved in the school co-curriculum activities such as Trilingual Speech Contest (English, Malay & Mandarin), Chinese Impromptu Speech Contest where he emerged as the Champion, Student Forum Competition, Essay Writting Competition, and Public Speaking Contest where he was the 1st ever Asian student to have won the Top 3 Prizes in the Auckland Inter-High School Public Speaking Contest representing Lynfield College. He was awarded with the Lynfield College Oratory Award in 1996 and Principal's Congratulatory Letter by bringin Fame to his College. James was the 1st Asian student to be awrded with the Oratory Award since 1962.

James' passion lies more in language and literature where he was the regular guest speaker of the Malaysia National Language and Literature Ministry. From Seminars to Workshops and Forum, he was always in the speaker's list. With his blessed and gifted ability to communicate in multilingual such as English, Malay, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, Kadazan (and currently learning Korean), he hope to be able to guide and teach more people by encouraging them to be at least a bilingual speaker in this new age of era.
